ABOUT

Caitlin is an International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC) and a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with a background in Performing Arts (PA) and Early Childhood Education (ECE). Caitlin has over 15 years of professional experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.

Caitlin’s primary focus is on addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She values every client’s background, belief system, and life experience. She listens without judgment, seeking to understand each client’s unique set of values, ideas, opinions, problems, patterns, and challenges. She offers perspectives, reflections, resources, curiousity, and an abundance of empathy in every client’s journey towards healing.

In recovery from alcohol use disorder (AUD) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) since 2014, Caitlin is familiar with recovery resources and programs. She has experience with both in-patient and out-patient programs as well as lived experience with 12-step, Buddhist-inspired, CBT-oriented, and independent recovery models. Caitlin has a special interest in animal assisted therapy (AAT) and welcomes opportunities to share knowledge and resources regarding the therapeutic benefits of animal companions.

Originally from Canada, Caitlin spent years traveling and living across her beautiful northern country. She lived and worked in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. Caitlin studied abroad in Switzerland and England. She also studied and lived in New Zealand for four awe-inspiring years. She now lives in Connecticut, USA with her son, husband, bengal-lynxpoint cat, crested gecko, and a yard full of birds. She loves books, yoga, hikes, aerial arts, cooking, and meditation.
